I was excited to see so many new faces last night at Oxfam, we had some great tunes before hand from Dan Gonzalez, then the party began and Moksha rocked the night away. Next weekend we are off to Maine for a couple of shows to spread the word in the north. If anybody is interested in that pilgrimage, you should definately come. Otherwise, the next Boston show is Nov. 5th at the All Asia (334 Mass Ave) right by MIT.

Also, make sure you check out Sam Goldhar's "No Bull, No Pork" radio show Friday 2-4pm at 91.5FM Medford or www.wmfo.org . I had the pleasure of joining him yesterday on the air to talk a little bit about the album and I got to hear some great tunes in the process. Folk On!

CD sales are doing great! Keep spreading the word and buying the CD...even though a month has gone by, the Red Cross still needs donations (and volunteers)...

9.2.05
For the month of September (maybe longer) all of my profits from sale of "I Will Go" CD's sold on CD Baby will go to the Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund to help the people whose lives have been turned over by Hurricane Katrina. Please buy the CD this month and help do something about this natural disaster. FYI, the Red Cross is a NON-government organization powered by volunteers and donations. Services provided by the Red Cross are always free to victims and refugees.

Dudes! It is time to go out and show your support for the Sierra's Showcase and keep the place alive. It was mighty quiet on Monday night. There is an open mic and an artist showcase every Monday 9-11 hosted by Jonathan Call. Check it out!!

I played last night at my first Just Plain Folks event at Bull Feeny's in Portland. The Just Plain Folks Roadtrip, run by Brian Austin Whitney is a tour across the country that includes artists from all of the locations and artists who travel with JPF starting at any point. It is an awesome community and here it was an awesome way to stretch the Portland music community to include all of the other JPFolks people. Some of my highlights were people I've seen before around Portland: Vanessa Torres and Touching Ground, Steven Bacon and Steven Williams, this dude who played an acoustic guitar with a violin bow and some kind of sampling/looping machine. It was nuts. Anyway, I hope to see you all tonight at Sierra's in Gorham. The address is 2 School St., Gorham. Peace

Don't forget to check out Folk On Records, the music collective.  To join or contact Folk On email us at folkonrecords@yahoo.com

Folk On Records is not a record company in the traditional sense. It is not a company designed to make money, but it is a small, but growing community of songwriters and performers who work together to take on the challenges of getting our music heard. The Folk On collective sees music in its original form, as a way of communication. To us, "folk" is not a specific and exclusive genre, but refers to people, folks, and their connection to music. We share information about performance opportunities, recording, copyright, and even writing so that we can all grow in our musical capabilities. Folk On includes a wide range of artists that could be classified as traditional folk, reggae, blues, independent rock, flamenco, and world groove groups and artists. Folk On!
